About

14 years. One owner. Still answering the phone.

RockIT Computer Services is a single-owner MSP based in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Founded in 2010. I do the work myself — no help desk in another state, no account manager who hands you off to a technician you've never met.

The business

RockIT started in 2010 in Baton Rouge. The name is a deliberate pun — "RockIT" as in "rock it" plus IT. I'm Nick Hamilton. I own it, and I run it.

Over 14 years I've built a book of 28 active clients across municipal government, dental and medical practices, construction, engineering, and professional services. The client relationships are long — some go back a decade or more. That's not because of lock-in contracts. It's because when something goes wrong at 7am on a Tuesday, you need someone who already knows your network.

The business model is straightforward: flat-rate managed services, 30-day agreements, one point of contact for everything. You don't call a help desk. You call me.

I handle everything myself: remote monitoring and patching, on-site visits, hardware procurement, vendor coordination, and the occasional "why is the printer doing that" call that every IT provider gets. Technical depth matters here — I work at the packet and registry level, not just the help-desk script level.

Owner. One number.

How this works differently

Three things that aren't common in the MSP industry.

1

No overseas help desk

When you call or submit a ticket, you're talking to me. Not a tier-1 script reader, not a call center in another country, not an "escalation path." There's one person responsible for your IT, and that person knows your environment.

2

30-day contracts

Every agreement is 30-day auto-renewing. You can cancel with 30 days notice. No multi-year lock-in, no cancellation fees, no "committed term" language in the fine print. If the service isn't delivering, you should be able to leave. That keeps me accountable.

3

Flat-rate, not hourly

Hourly billing creates a misaligned incentive: the provider gets paid more when things break. Flat-rate means I get paid the same whether it takes 10 minutes or 10 hours. I have a financial reason to fix things right the first time and keep them working.

Service area

Based in Baton Rouge. Remote support covers clients anywhere in south Louisiana — most issues are resolved remotely in minutes. For on-site work, I cover the Greater Baton Rouge area, the Florida Parishes, and surrounding parishes.

For clients outside the immediate region, we make it work. Remote monitoring, remote support, and periodic scheduled on-site visits. It's how the business has operated from the beginning.
